Organic carrots are renowned for their excellent taste both fresh and cooked. Many chefs use organic carrots in with non-organic menu items, as they claim they "taste like they used to". Using some local organic produce in meals helps to reduce food miles, improves the overall sustainability of the service and provides some environmental benefits. The advantage of buying local organic produce has been proven in many studies and at Metcalfe Organic we are able to help meet the criteria of those in the private sector and those working under the Public Sector Food Procurement Initiative.
